Happy Birthday, Brian!

This post is in honor of my amazing husband. Here are my 5 favorite things about my Brian, not in any particular order.

1. He is creative--from music to building things to solving problems.

2. He is perfect for me. Whenever I feel frazzled or upset, he can calm me down. He is so much fun to be with, and he supports me so I feel strong and confident to do whatever I need to do.

3. He loves the gospel. He loves to study and learn the scriptures.

4. He works hard.

5. He has the most wonderful laugh. It makes me happy to hear him laugh. (And, I have the good fortune of hearing him giggle--rare, but delightful). He also loves to make other people laugh. :)

Well, I could keep listing my favorite things about my dear husband, who I love so much. Happy Birthday!

(At Cabela's, near the big animal mountain, feeding the fish)

Mckay was standing in the back of the cart, leaning on the railing to see the fish. Then, he leaned a little further. His feet left the cart and his cute round head started pulling him over the rail. Even though I was right next to him, with my hand on his back, he easily could have slipped right over the rail and into the fish pond. Of course, he just looked at me, smiled and giggled, then sat down in the cart. I don't think he was scared, but sensed it in me.

Interesting conversations tonight:

C: What is smaller than 0? Negative 1?

B: Yep.

C: (Starts talking about negative infinity, and if that's the "biggest" smallest number)

Seriously..where does he get this?

N: I want to make my Christmas list!

M: What do you want on your list?

N: The Children's Museum. Grandma's Children's Museum! (There's a really fun children's museum in Baltimore.)

M: Hmm..Can you choose something smaller?

N: (Whispering) A small children's museum.

Brian, Camden, Nate, and I were sitting on the couch for family prayer before bed. Just after we finished, Camden reached his toes up to his head and scratched his forehead. "I can scratch my head like a dog!" Then he reached his foot back and used his toes to scratch his ear. We never know what to expect from him!

At church, there was one bank of lights on the side of the church that wasn't turned on. No one would even notice. Unless that person is Nate.
N: "Uh oh" (point and pause) "Uh oh" (point and pause) "Uh oh".
M: "Are the lights turned off?"
N: "Uh-HUH!!! Uh oh" (pause and point) "Uh oh"
Repeat.

Nate: Hot hot hot! (looking at a picture that had a candle and flame in it)

M: Nate looks so tired. He's ready for a nap.
C: But I'm not sleepy in the least.

Camden's train of thought can be so random at times. We laugh a lot and also spend a lot of time trying to figure out what he's talking about.
C: Is that Mary and baby Jesus? (Looking at the picture of Mary praying with Jesus as a little boy.)
M: That's Mary with little boy Jesus. Do you like to pray?
C: Yes, but don't kiss me or eat me.

June 5, 2011 (During a testimony meeting):
After too many women spoke in a row: "Boys...church...true"

June 4, 2011
Mom: "Camden is so cute!"
Camden: "No Tammen (how he says Camden) toot (cute).
Queen toot. Mate toot. Dad toot. No Tammen
toot." (Lightning McQueen and Mater)
