Slacker?

I was just looking through our old posts and realized that the last time I posted anything of significance was right after we moved. Just so you're all aware, I haven't walked into the closet in the middle of the night since then. Anyway, I thought I would give an update on how we are doing.
Michelle, as you can see, is getting cuter and cuter every day. She's excited to be off track to get some things ready for the baby to come. We're both excited and nervous that it's coming so quickly. Things have been moving so quickly this year that I feel like yesterday was New Years Day and now it's already the middle of March. I wrote out a check today and put '08 for the year. We're almost done with the first quarter and I still haven't figured out what year it is!
Part of the reason things are going so quickly is school. I've had two five week courses, one right after the other, while I've also had a ten week course. I've barely had time to figure out what class I'm supposed to be in Tuesday and which one is Thursday before its time to take the final exam. Fortunately, it's already helping me at work. I've been able to help move things in new (hopefully beneficial) directions in several departments, from estimating (where I actually work) to accounting and production. I've felt pretty good about the things I'm learning. Sometimes it's such a whirlwind that I feel like I'm not absorbing anything, but then when something comes up, I know where to find the tools to solve the problems. Even if I didn't learn them extremely well during the class, once I start using it for real life situations it starts to make sense to me.
We're really enjoying our new ward and stake. We had stake conference at our old stake the week before we started coming to our new ward, and then we had stake conference in our new stake the second week we were here. We think our ward and stake are great and we have really good leaders. We've been given new callings and they are: Brian-Priesthood pianist, Michelle-Relief Society pianist. There are only two other people in the ward that play the piano/organ, so they were excited to have us move in. They haven't had a priesthood pianist in years. These are probably really good callings for us right now because they don't require any preparation. Every now and then I'll pull out the Hymn book and go through the hard ones just in case that's what they want to sing, but I don't even know what we're going to sing until one or two minutes before the meeting starts. It's kind of like the lottery although if they pick the wrong number, everyone loses. That's okay though because I feel pretty confident about most of the hymns, and the ones I don't feel so great about most people haven't heard of before. Anyway, I enjoy it and find myself wanting to get to church 15 minutes early (even though there's only one guy in there until about 2 minutes before the meeting starts) just so I can magnify my calling with tons of prelude.
Well, anyway, that's about how my life is now. Before I know it I'll be retiring and driving an RV around the country, wearing my socks and sandals. Hope everyone is doing well, and if I don't post for three more months it's just because I still think it's January.

I promise he won't be wearing sandals and socks (at least not together!).
