This is a profile shot of our baby's head. You can see his nose, forehead, and little lips. Isn't he cute? Oh, that brings us to the big news...we're having a BOY! We keep thinking about all the cute little boys we've met over the years, hoping that our little one will be as cute. The doctor checked everything (vital organs, brain, bones, etc.) and said little one looks very healthy. We are so grateful and blessed.
Imagine a world where you don't have to worry about the big trucks sliding all over the place because they're driving 70 MPH on sheer ice. This is also a world where there aren't people driving 15 MPH on the same road. Imagine a world where you don't have to take your summer clothes with you to change into once you go inside because people think they need to turn the thermostat up to 80 degrees when it's 25 outside. Imagine a world where, if you get roller blades for Christmas, you can play with them OUTSIDE instead of in the kitchen or garage. Okay, I admit I'm not the biggest fan of snow. "Well, move!" I can hear some of you saying, but the fact is, I have things to do here right now, and I don't feel like commuting that far every single day (and, to be quite honest, I'm not that bent out of shape about it; I just prefer warm weather). I used to like snow. I used to like to go play in it even when I didn't have snow pants and my jeans would freeze to my legs. But I have to tell you, I don't like it anymore. Skiing is more expensive than my willingness to pay, the roads get nasty, and I'm always either too hot or too cold depending on who's in charge of the thermostat. I don't want to offend anyone. You're certainly entitled to love snow, but I think the only Christmas song that gets it right about snow is the one that says "Since we've no place to go, let it snow!..." That's the only time I think it's acceptable, if I can stay inside with Michelle, cuddle up, and watch a movie. As I drove through a blizzard on Saturday, I realized why we have Christmas in December. Since it's the most miserable time of the year, people needed the biggest holidays of the year just to feel happy. It's a raging success, because people have even become convinced that snow is a good thing. Just listen to most of the Christmas music out there. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas. I think it's the greatest holiday. People are kinder to others and more generous. Even in a world that is increasingly bad, heroes emerge during this time of year (and I guess the snow and cold gives them more opportunities to serve). I love Christmas music, and I love being with family. I really feel that the spirit of Christmas is the Spirit of Christ, and that's why we love this time of year so much, despite the blizzards and such. Having said all that, who's really the bad guy in this clip?
(At Cabela's, near the big animal mountain, feeding the fish)
Mckay was standing in the back of the cart, leaning on the railing to see the fish. Then, he leaned a little further. His feet left the cart and his cute round head started pulling him over the rail. Even though I was right next to him, with my hand on his back, he easily could have slipped right over the rail and into the fish pond. Of course, he just looked at me, smiled and giggled, then sat down in the cart. I don't think he was scared, but sensed it in me.

Interesting conversations tonight:
C: What is smaller than 0? Negative 1?
B: Yep.

Seriously..where does he get this?
N: I want to make my Christmas list!
M: What do you want on your list?
N: The Children's Museum. Grandma's Children's Museum! (There's a really fun children's museum in Baltimore.)
M: Hmm..Can you choose something smaller?
N: (Whispering) A small children's museum.
March 2, 2013 Brian, Camden, Nate, and I were sitting on the couch for family prayer before bed. Just after we finished, Camden reached his toes up to his head and scratched his forehead. "I can scratch my head like a dog!" Then he reached his foot back and used his toes to scratch his ear. We never know what to expect from him!
Jan 13, 2013 At church, there was one bank of lights on the side of the church that wasn't turned on. No one would even notice. Unless that person is Nate. N: "Uh oh" (point and pause) "Uh oh" (point and pause) "Uh oh". M: "Are the lights turned off?" N: "Uh-HUH!!! Uh oh" (pause and point) "Uh oh" Repeat.
Jan 2013 Nate: Buh a boh! (peek a boo!)
Nate: Hot hot hot! (looking at a picture that had a candle and flame in it)
Dec 2012 M: Nate looks so tired. He's ready for a nap. C: But I'm not sleepy in the least.
February 9 2012 Camden's train of thought can be so random at times. We laugh a lot and also spend a lot of time trying to figure out what he's talking about. C: Is that Mary and baby Jesus? (Looking at the picture of Mary praying with Jesus as a little boy.) M: That's Mary with little boy Jesus. Do you like to pray? C: Yes, but don't kiss me or eat me.
January 17 2012 C: I get marshmallows now. That's the only choice."
June 24, 2011 B: You are stinkin' cute! C: Sink toot! Sink toot! (Stinkin' cute) Dad sink too! Mom sink too! Nate sink too! Me sink too! (I guess we are all pretty stinky!)
June 6, 2011 Michelle: "Do you need a change? Are you stinky?" (He was in desperate need of a change.) Camden: "No change. Nate change!"
June 5, 2011 (During a testimony meeting): After too many women spoke in a row: "Boys...church...true"
June 4, 2011 Mom: "Camden is so cute!" Camden: "No Tammen (how he says Camden) toot (cute). Queen toot. Mate toot. Dad toot. No Tammen toot." (Lightning McQueen and Mater)
