It's fixed!

I just have to share a little experience that made me feel very accomplished today.

So...last week our garbage disposal stopped working. I turned it on, it made a deep grumbling sound, and then it stopped. I had to wait until this week to think about it, but it started smelling funny. Brian looked at getting a new one, and I researched our home warranty to see if it is covered. Happily, it is covered, but as a part of requesting service, the company offers quick-fix tips that the homeowner can try. Here are the things I learned:

1. Our garbage disposal is really cool. It has its own breaker switch in it so it won't ruin itself. It also has a reset switch.

2. Chemical pipe cleaner shouldn't really be used in a disposal, but vinegar or hydrogen peroxide can help loosen up the gunk in the bottom.

3. There is a little hole on the bottom of the disposal where an Allen wrench fits. When one uses the wrench in that hole, the choppers get loosened. Ta-da! Your disposal works again!

Anyway, I'm certainly not an expert, but I felt excited to be able to solve this smelly problem. :)
