400 names

This year, my New Year's resolution was to make a goal for each month. 12 month-long goals seems so much easier and relevant than a year-long goal. For July, I set a goal to index 400 names on the familysearch.org website. I look at scanned pictures of records and type up the information so people today can search for their ancestors more easily. I must admit it's pretty addicting!

I worked on a Jamaican birth registry project, which included people born from about 1885 until 1900. I also worked on a Canadian birth registry for people born between 1900 and 1910. I finished, with 409 names to be exact! I found a few people born on my birthday (or perhaps I was born on their birthday!) and I found a Marchant family in Jamaica.

I still have a few days to think of my August goal... :)

My July Goal is to finish a paper that I've procrastinated to the last day from my first grad school class.

My August goal is to finish my last month of work without getting fired for daydreaming of Grad school. (And to help Dale start his new job)

My September goal is to start being a full time grad student without giving up or freaking out.

In october I'll probably just work on a REALLY cool Halloween costume :)

Seriously, such a good idea! I just might have to copy you! I always do weekly goals and it's dumb things like "mop the floor". I need to do more things like this! And good job on getting names indexed!
