1.Camden got his first haircut yesterday. He could have gotten one when he was born, but I waited until after his blessing. It wasn't the best cut I've done, but I've never had such a wiggly customer before! And, it's just fine for a 2-month-old.
2. Today, Camden got his 2 month shots. I waited until he was asleep to take him to the doctor, and we left him in his carrier. Still, he got pretty upset when the nurse (who is about the nicest nurse I've ever met) shot him three times. But, the rotavirus vaccine is an oral vaccine, so he was pretty happy to have something to suck on at the end. Then, he fell back asleep. I told him he was a brave boy and that he did a good job. :) Unfortunately, when he woke up, he barely ate anything, was pale and lethargic. The doctor said this is all normal and that infant Tylenol should do the trick. Hopefully he feels better soon!
3. On Sunday, we were able to bless Camden. I feel so grateful that so much of my family and Brian's family were able to come. I love family! He was so good--he didn't even make a peep during the whole blessing, which was beautiful. I love my husband so dearly, and I am honored and grateful to be his wife.
4. On Friday and Saturday, we all drove down to St. George for a family reunion and my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I got to see family members I haven't seen in many years, which was such a joy for me. Camden smiled and cooed for his grandparents and great-grandparents. Brian played a Guiness Book of World Records marco polo game that lasted 3 or 4 hours while I sat in the shallow end and Camden slept in Grandpa Wilkinson's arms. I'll say it again, I love my family!
5. Don't eat the prophet! For family night, Brian and I played an exciting game called Don't eat the prophet! Here's how it works:
~Print out the pictures of the 1st presidency and quorum of the 12. Glue them onto paper so you have a 3 x 5 grid. They don't have to be in any order.
~Put popcorn, marshmallows, m'n'ms, or any other small treat on each picture.
~Send one person out of the room.
~Choose one person who is still in the room to pick one of the pictures. Make sure everyone knows who got chosen, but keep it a secret from the person out of the room.
~Bring the person back into the room.
~The "outsider" chooses one of the general authorities. If it is the one that the 'insider' chose, everyone yells "Don't Eat the Prophet!" If it isn't, the person gets to eat that treat and choose another general authority. The "outsider" gets to keep going until everyone yells "Don't eat the Prophet!"
~ Next, someone else leaves the room, and the game starts all over.
We also made up a song to help us remember the names of all 1st presidency and quorum of the 12. Sing it to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star":
Monson, Eyring, Uchtdorf, Packer, Perry, Nelson, Oaks, and Ballard.
Scott, Hales, Holland, Bednar, Cook, Christofferson, Anderson.
These are the prophets and apostles today.
We love them and obey.
Sure, it's pretty cheesy, but now you'll never forget the order (not by seniority)!
Well, maybe there were only 5 major events, but the post is definitely long enough!
Have a fabulous day!
