April 17, 2011

For the past few days, my internet hasn't let me log in to my online banking. Ahhhh! Then, this morning, I couldn't log in to my email, lds.org, facebook, online banking, my blog, or anything else that required a log-in. AHHHHH! I ran my anti-spyware weekly scan, which came up with 4 suspicious files, which I promptly quarantined. Still, I couldn't access email.

I thought I would have to call the Geek Squad or PCLaptops (We love YOU!), but I really didn't want to do that. Anyway, I decided to just try searching "invalid security certificate error" on google. On the first site I checked, it said my date might be set incorrectly. (Hmmm....one of the expired sites did say that their certificate expired in 2011--which seems like it is later than now, so it would still be valid, right?) Soooo, I checked. Sure enough, my computer believed it was April 17, 2011. With that corrected, everything's good again! I love figuring out how to solve mystery problems!

Moral of the story: Before you call in the expert, do a quick google search. :)

Way to fix it all on your own. I feel so satisfied when I can do pretty much anything technical on our computer. Good Work!

Okay, I wouldn't be able to solve anything computer-related, even with a google search.....so I'm calling YOU next time. You can by my "geek squad." hee, hee. Good for you though. I swear I'm not that computer savvy! :)
